Andreas Wecker – Founder of Andreas Seed Oils

“Hello! My name is Andreas Wecker, Founder of Andreas Seed Oils. Today, I would like to share with you my life-changing experience, and how I corrected my health after learning I was affected by a chronic illness.andreas

Most people remember me as a gymnast, competing for Germany in national and world championships and Olympic Games until 2000, when I tore my bicep during training three days before my competition at the Sydney Olympic Games, ending my career. Following a 6 week recovery, I began creating shows as a professional gymnastics exhibitionist, until 2004. Like any other athlete in my field, in order to cope with severe pain issues, I depended on a combination of pain killers, aspirin and coffee for 14 years to get me through my practices and performances. When I stepped away from my athletic pursuits in 2004, I stopped taking the pills I had once needed, and within two years my health began rapidly deteriorating.

In 2006, over a 6 week period, I lost 45 pounds and 80 percent of my blood supply. I was soon admitted to the hospital, at which point doctors diagnosed me with Crohn’s Disease. I received eight blood transfusions, and immediately began a treatment plan with hopes of reversing my body’s quick decline. After almost two months in the hospital, I was realizing that the 33 pills I was taking every day were not improving my Crohn’s Disease, but rather temporarily alleviating some of the symptoms. I knew that this would not be a cure for me, for the treatment plan I was on was causing my body to rapidly change form and become increasingly weaker. Without a miracle, the next stop was major surgery which would remove large portions of my digestive tract. As I saw it, I had three options: die from the Crohn’s Disease, die from the medication, or find another option entirely. At 36 years old, I decided to check myself out of the hospital, and unbeknownst to me, things were about to change drastically.

When I got out of the hospital, I talked to a friend who told me about something that gave me a very real alternative to modern medicine. My friend told me about the possibility of using fresh-pressed flaxseed oil, having had a family member who used this as an alternative treatment for their Crohn’s Disease. Seeing this as my only chance of survival, in addition to taking my prescribed medications, I began supplementing my treatment plan with fresh-pressed flaxseed oil. I realized over a short period of time that, with the pain and inflammation relieved, my body was responding positively to this remedy. As I reduced the amount of pills I took every day and continued taking the flaxseed oil, the side effects from the medications waned. After 3 months of supplementing with flaxseed oil, I stopped taking the prescribed medications for Crohn’s Disease entirely. Diet modification, combined with taking the fresh-pressed flaxseed oil, changed my approach to managing my health problems, and my improved condition testified to the flaxseed oil’s repair work within my body.

A struggle that initially incurred heavy repercussions on my life now shaped my calling. I recognized that high quality oils, perhaps of all kinds, could help others improve their overall health as well. Over the next 14 months, my journey towards creating a more pure oil, and oil press, began to unfold. During this time, I would also realize that in order to make my dream a reality, and also for the freedom to create a better life for my young daughter, I would need to move my family to the United States.

In September of 2007, with the help of a sponsor, I moved my family of three from Germany to Los Angeles, California, each of us carrying just one suitcase. The following month, I had a clear vision to create a new, revolutionary oil press, something that was very different than what was currently offered on the market. This vision would become a reality soon enough, but would not be available to me until two years later, as I did not have the money at this time to purchase my creation.

In 2008, in order to purchase my first inventory of seeds and bottles, my wife and I sold our wedding rings. I began pressing just one bottle of flaxseed oil per day from a small modified press, and out of this, Andreas Seed Oil was born.

As our lives changed with the changing of the seasons, my business began to grow. I continued producing my seed oils and distributing them myself throughout the greater Los Angeles area, and with the increasing number of customers came new selections of oils. In November 2009, I purchased the very press that had been constructed out of my vision almost two years prior. The use of this custom-built press allowed me to unlock and release the full benefits of the oils, creating an even more superior product to what my customers had known and loved for years.

Andreas Seed Oil continued to flow, and happy customers with positive results continued to flock to my growing selection of unique healthy food oils. Each person had a testimonial of their own, with different uses and benefits being shared throughout the community. Out of all of the seed oils I had pressed, however, the real life-changer for me came in 2011 when I began pressing coriander seed oil. As I had continued to suffer from residual effects of my disease, as well as from side effects from the medications I had ceased taking 5 years earlier, this oil was my breakthrough in health, completing my recovery from Crohn’s Disease.

In 2012, while living in Big Bear and still producing my oils by myself, a new business opportunity came my way. Starting on my own from square one, within less than 5 years I had procured hundreds of satisfied customers, as well as a network of 9 companies who distributed my food oils nationally. But I met a man who convinced me that I could help a larger group of people through the use of his online website and the distribution relationships he had established. This idea made sense because my wish was to help as many people as I could, and this man had the resources and marketing skills to fulfill my dream. He could give my oils exposure nationally and internationally. It made logical sense to me. I would later find out, after 3 years of doing business with this man, that his intention was never to share my dream and way of manufacturing my products. This experience was a temporary setback in the development of my products, and has been a confirmation that my way of serving my customers is the only way.

So today, I am going back to my humble beginnings to continue my vision of producing the purest food oils that can be pressed, and as a reminder to myself for the reasons why I am still here. This brings me to the introduction of Andreas Seed Oils.

As the old saying goes, “You can get on with living, or you can get on with dying,” and I chose to get on with living, and found a way of helping myself. Every day I wake up grateful that I was able to help myself. I believe that what I am doing today, and what I am pressing, has the ability to help people greatly, when a lot of them may have no other alternatives left. I encourage anyone who wants to better improve there health to give my Andreas Seed Oils a try, and let me know how my products have helped them.”
